Yes - that's right you know - we are all victims in this together.
Just think about it for a moment or two - realistically . . .
All the "hoax" theorists - all the counter-bloggers and commentators - the gangs of cyber-bullies - anyone, in fact, who has allowed any sense of reality to congeal around the information they may have read.
We have all permitted ourselves to be seduced by words, seduced by the images that they conjour up in our minds.
Just watch it happen - girlfriend - hospital - pregnancy - emergency.
Beyond those images we know absolutely nothing - and when I say "know" - I mean in the sense that we know conclusively from our own personal experience - our real life experience - not the imagined lives of those we encounter in cyber-space.
This is a story which, as far as the readers are concerned - from start to finish - every single detail of it only exists in the imagination.
Some readers have chosen to believe the information that was reported to me - but not my conclusions.
With myself, apart from my early involvement, it is still only a story, but the reverse is the case - yet either way - it is exclusively in the domain of the imagination - we are merely juggling with images and conceptualisations that have sprung to life from information.
We have to accept that neither the conclusions, nor the information have yet been sanctified as reality.
To not accept that premise - firmly and clearly - is delusional.
If we are all perfectly honest with ourselves - we should all go right back - to square one - wipe the slate clean & start at the very beginning.
All I know for certain is that I exist - that Mayen exists - that Sir Francis exists - that the Medical Center Paranaque exists.
That Mayen & I met up in the Philippines and made love without contraception.
That is all.
And I received a telephone call - early one morning . . .
But apart from Mayen and myself - that phone-call is just a picture in your mind - that I have conjoured up - through information - and yet you are believing it.
Information has such tremendous power.
Was the information in that first phone call simply Mayen, describing a picture she was seeing in her mind - and delivering it to me?
Only Mayen, and perhaps one or two other people know.
You have been at the mercy of information all along - just as I was, on the receiving end of that telephone call.
Information that had to be transmitted to me, somehow - before I could respond to it - but how could that be done without leaving a trail?
A request to send some money via Western Union perhaps (strangely just 2 days before I was due to fly out there myself.)
Shall we look at all the "proof" that was voluntarily forthcoming to back up the information transmitted, the images implanted in all of our minds - from that very first telephone call?

for blood & day to day expenses - 4,500.00
3) Doctor's fees40,000.00

I'll do best to have the hospital email you directly the billings. Please note that if the P74,237.69 balance as of today is not settled, it will be hard to have Mayen released.

. . . and that is all - wait a minute! - come to think of it - I had to badger them even for this - the day before my 2nd flight was about to leave - remember?
After I had insisted on dealing ONLY WITH THE HOSPITAL.
Notice that there are no Doctors' names mentioned - no trail - some of the figures are inexplicably different from the JPG of a bill received later on.
Can we expect anyone seriously to consider this as "proof?"
But then - we're being seduced again aren't we - by the words - hospital - doctor - blood.
We're looking for clues in our own fantastic creation - that is only there because we breath life into those words.
Words that came - uninvited.
Remember - it is not real - until we know it's real - from our own experience.
Reality is much more than a picture - a picture that is so easily outlined with words - but is coloured in by hope, love and trust.
